How do I complete a DSE assessment?

Accessing the DSE User Portal

Each user has a personal DSE portal that provides access to training, exams, and a history of previous assessments. There are three primary ways to access your DSE portal:

  1. Via Email Invitation

     The most common method is through the link provided in the DSE access invitation email. This email is sent either according to your organization’s reassessment schedule or annually by default.




  2. Through AssessNet’s Portal

     If your organization uses the AssessNet portal interface, administrators can enable a menu option that allows DSE users to have a DSE access email sent to them. 




  1. For Users with Additional AssessNet Responsibilities

     Users who have other modules assigned to them within AssessNet can access their DSE portal via the DSE menu in the Platform.




Completing a DSE Assessment

Once on the DSE portal page, follow these steps to complete your assessment:

  1. Initiating a New Assessment

     If the DSE assessment panel is highlighted in red and displays a notification, click on the "New Assessment" button to begin the process.


  1. Selecting Your Workstation Type

     Choose the type of workstation you use so that you can be directed to the appropriate DSE assessment.




  1. Answering the Assessment Questions

     Each question in the assessment must be answered. Responses are typically in a "Yes / No / N/A" format, though some questions may offer a dropdown menu with additional options. Selected answers will be highlighted in blue.


  2. Adding Comments and Attachments

     You can add comments and attachments for each question, where applicable. Some questions may require additional details or files depending on your answer.


Post-Assessment Actions

  1. Providing Additional Information

     After completing the assessment, you have the option to add comments or additional details related to your workstation. 


  2. Viewing the Assessment Report

     Once the DSE assessment is finalised, a report will be generated. The report includes:
    • User information
    • Identified concerns
    • Comments added by the user
    • Feedback from the Health and Safety representative
    • Resolution of any concerns (if applicable)

  1. Finalising the Process

     After reviewing the report, click the "Save and Finish" button to return to your DSE dashboard.


This guide ensures you navigate the DSE system efficiently, complete your assessments accurately, and provide any necessary feedback for further review.
